Over the last few years the aviation industry has reevaluated the core competencies an ideal airline pilot should have.
Besides technical skills airlines have started to put very strong emphasis on the personality, interpersonal skills and psychometric capabilities of their personnel.
These competencies are now evaluated during flight school entry assessments, during pilot training (like KSA100 in the ATPL(A) theory course) and throughout the pilot job interview and selection process.
Due to the EASA decision and Commission Regulation (EU) from 2021 it is not only recommended but mandatory for all airline crew to complete a psychological assessment before commencing line flying. That means European flight schools and airlines will have to check if candidates are suitable for becoming a pilot.

check LinkedIn profile" Throughout my career in the aviation industry I have met hundreds of pilots and many HR and selection specialists. I know how hard it is first to start the flight training, to get qualified as a commercial pilot and then to successfully navigate through the complicated pilot job selection procedures.
All this made me realise there is no professional support for pilots provided by an expert in the field of aviation psychology. I created MyWingman for pilots to assist them throughout their journey and improve their chances of landing their dream job."
